Formatting:

 

q                Margins are exactly one-inch on the sides, top, and bottom.

q                The font used in the entire paper is Verdana 12-point.

q                The paper is double-spaced.

q                There are no extra spaces between paragraphs.

q                All pages have page numbers at the bottom of the page in the middle.

q                All quotations of two or more words have quotation marks.

Grammar:

 

q                The document has been spell-checked and there are no spelling errors.

q                The document has been checked for sentence fragments and there are no sentence fragments.

q                The document has been checked for correct use of commas and there are no errors.

q                Nominalizations have been eliminated from the document.

q                Wordiness has been eliminated from the document.

q                Passive voice has been eliminated from the document

Structure:                                            

 

q                The first one or two paragraphs are a summary of the author’s argument.

q                The first two paragraphs contain no data in support of the author’s claims.

q                Each paragraph analyzes one of the author’s stated reasons or solutions.

q                The last paragraph contains a summary of your evaluation of the author’s argument.

q                This checklist is the first page of the document being handed in.

q                The second page of the document is a complete argument map that reflects the structure of the critique.

q                The last page of the document is your title page with your name on it.
